Focus Isn’t About Discipline
Most millennial founders I know are running 3 playbooks at once:
They want to scale… but don’t want to manage people.
They want freedom… but say yes to every project.
They want clarity… but won’t kill anything to get it.
And then they wonder why they’re tired all the time.
Why they keep tweaking systems.
Why every productivity app turns into another form of procrastination.
Focus isn’t about willpower. It’s about decision.
It’s about picking one game — and letting everything else die a clean death.
Clarity is the most slept-on growth hack
When you actually know what you want:
You stop building for customers you don’t even like.
You stop chasing ideas that don’t fit your life.
You stop tweaking the system and finally run it.
Most people don’t get this far — because deciding is painful.
It forces you to admit that:
That project you keep revisiting? It’s a distraction.
That hire you made? A mistake.
That opportunity? Not for you.
But once you decide — the clouds lift. And everything gets way, way easier.
You stop being busy.
You start being dangerous.
If your work feels heavy, it’s probably because you’re carrying too many maybes.
Pick a direction.
Build like hell.
And for the love of god — close some tabs.
Best,
Peter Delle
